How to Open Your Chakras?

Have you been feeling off? Has your body not been performing up to its full capacity lately? If so, there is a chance that your chakras could be blocked. Chakras are specific focal points or energy centers in our body that are responsible for optimal health; be it spiritual, mental, emotional, or physical. Since ancient times sages and other spiritual healers have practiced under the belief that Chakras are spinning disks of energy that should remain “unblocked” as each Chakra is linked with a specific body organ and can affect the mechanism of our entire system.
We all go through the natural highs and lows of life sometimes causing us to hold onto false stories about ourselves, affecting our very outlook on life. Sometimes these thoughts and feelings can take its toll and leave us feeling drained and discouraged. These feelings of depression and low energy can also be key indicators of the blocked chakras. Chakra healing can dramatically boost conscious living, oneness with oneself and the Universe, spiritual awareness and the overall process towards enlightenment.

Sound Healing
Sound healing has been used for centuries to open and balance Chakras. For instance, have you ever noticed how listening to a certain voice, or rhythm can dramatically boost your mood? It could be the melodious voice of a waterfall or even the voice of your loved one. Well, studies have proven that sounds has the power to either uplift or disturb our emotional state but there is a scientific and spiritual reason as to why.
Sound healing or music therapy has been the practice by masterminds, sages, spiritual gurus, since ancient times. According to Chakra specialists, various audio frequencies correspond to each chakra. Depending on the approach, during the healing process, you may be allowed to join by singing, dancing, playing a musical instrument, or you may be asked to stay motionless and silent to allow the melodies penetrate deep inside you. Binaural beats have also been used for such effects during meditation.
Color Therapy
Color therapy is another practiced method used in balancing
Chakras. This is effective because every Chakra is directly linked with a specific color. This type of therapy is known as Chromotherapy which is performed by flashing a specific color of light to the associated Chakra. It may also be done with the eyes by staring at a specific shade. Although that is done with extreme caution to avoid putting pressure on the eyes. Color therapy is based on the premise that colors influence hormonal and metabolic reactions in our bodies by sending a nerve impulse via our brain. These procedures either excite or relax our chakras and open them up.
Meditation
Meditation is another wonderful technique used to center us into
our bodies. It is an effective practiced used to combat depression, suppressed emotions, negative energies, blockages and shifting emotions. Dense and deliberate breathing, when done with concentration, can also help to open and balance your Chakras. Each inhaled breath when performed with intention, can send energy directly to your targeted Chakra, while each exhalation permits release of any energy blockage.

Regardless of which method you choose; all therapies can be effective when practiced with intention and dedication. Often your body already knows what it needs to restore itself so try tuning in and listening to what makes your soul feel at ease and restored.
